Go on a day trip to your local state or national park.

Whether it is to a park where you can fish or hike, you are sure to have a good time with your significant other. Make sure you pack enough sunscreen and bottled water for the both of you. Nature is always calling, and summer is one of the best times to experience it.

Happy hour on the patio

If you and your significant other are at least 21 years old, a great outside date for the summer is happy hour and appetizers on the patio. Whether it is a margarita with chips and queso or a charcuterie board with win, you and your significant other will have a great time.

Local outdoor concert

Anytime in the summer is a good time for an outdoor concert. If the singer is a local or nation wide artist, you are sure to have a good time. Make sure you pack a blanket or lawn chairs for both of you so you can enjoy the concert in comfort.

Pool day

If you live in an apartment or have a pool at your house, make a pool day! Nothing is better than beating than heat than relaxing in the pool. Make sure you use enough sunscreen and snacks in case you get hungry.

Lazy day in

Sometimes during the summer when it is too hot to be outside, the best course of action is to have a lazy day inside and binge some Netflix. Make sure you have plenty of junk food and popcorn to hold you over through the day!

Local wineries/breweries

If you and your significant other are at least 21 years old, make a day to visit your local wineries/breweries. You will likely learn about how the beverages are made, and might be able to take a tour of the facilities. This is a perfect way to escape the heat while supporting your local economy.

Local baseball game

If you are fortunate enough to live in a town that has their own semi-professional or professional baseball team, a perfect date is a day to the ballpark. Make sure your tickets are in the shade, and you are set for a good time.

Visit local tourist attractions

A perfect way to beat the heat with your significant other is to go visit a local tourist attraction. You are able to support your community while learning more about it. I know my fiance and I are going to visit the Buddy Holly museum this summer to learn how a Lubbockite changed rock and roll history.

Go to the restaurant you have been wanting to try for weeks

It seems like there is always a restaurant my fiance and I are always wanting to try, but just never do. Go outside your comfort zone and finally go! It might become your new favorite.

Cook out

Go to the grocery store, and get some cookout food. Make an evening of it by cooking out and then join the cool weather outside together. You could always invite another couple over, and make it a double date too!
