Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez has been in office less than a month and she has given us conservatives a treasure trove of gaffes. Let’s jump in.

1) When AOC wasn’t even sworn in, but was already violating House ethics

Good thing she hadn’t taken the oath yet, because she decided she wanted to use her power in the House to subpoena Donald Trump Jr. over a meme he shared of her.

2)  When she claimed unemployment was low because everyone had two jobs

No…that’s not how this works. The Bureau of Labor Statistics keeps track of how many people work more than one job. Even Politifact got in on the action by going through everything she said and breaking it down. AOC definitely lost this round.

3) When she compared the Holocaust to what’s happening at our Southern border

For the record, stop comparing things to the Holocaust that aren’t actually the Holocaust. This was such a disgusting display of ignorance. Senator Graham even took to Twitter to tell her to take a trip to the Holocaust museum in DC so she could realize why her tweet was a problem.

4) When she commented on Israel’s “occupation of Palestine” but couldn’t explain what that meant

This was arguably one of the most cringe worthy things I saw on ALL the news in 2018. That is a very strange feat, all things considered. This interview was on PBS’ “Firing Line” with host Margaret Hoover. Hoover asked AOC to elaborate on what she meant by “occupation” and AOC’s response was: “Oh, I think what I meant is that the settlements that are increasing in some of these areas and places where Palestinians are experiencing difficulty in access to their housing and homes” then said she was no expert. Yeah, no kidding.

5) When AOC claimed Congress needs to pay interns a living wage

Okay, but here’s the thing…Pay Our Interns shows that 51% of Republican Senator’s pay their interns whereas only 31% of Democrats pay their interns. 8% of House Republicans pay their interns whereas only 3.5% of Democrats pay their interns.

6) When AOC tweeted electoral college was never useful

Spoken like someone who probably has never taken a civics class. The ignorance is appalling. I guess the electoral college determining Donald Trump the winner in 2016 makes it trash to her. Here’s the thing, the Democrats in NYC has no clue what’s best for small town Missouri. Let’s stop pretending like the electoral college doesn’t protect our states that normally have the least amount of say.

7) When she said “All Three Chambers of Congress..uh, rather, Three Chambers of Government”

Quick history lesson: We have three branches of government, not chambers. Then, she says those three “chambers” are the president, the Senate, and the House. But the correct answer is that the three branches are the legislative branch, which is broken into two chambers, the House and the Senate, the executive branch, and the judicial branch.

8) When she thought she was having an inauguration

Pretty self-righteous of her to say. Update: she doesn’t get an inauguration, she got sworn in.

9) When AOC says the upper middle class doesn’t exist anymore

Except a quick Google search will show you that the upper middle class is growing and there is definitely no shortage of people in that bracket.

10) When she said, “The world is going to end in 12 years if we don’t address climate change”

While I totally agree that we’ve got to change how we treat our beautiful earth and that we’re approaching a complete crisis decades from now, literally no one is saying that we’re all going to die in 12 years because of climate change.

AOC is giving us gold. With all due respect, her delusions of grandeur are comical. Even one of her fellow Democratic colleagues said this to Politico: “She needs to decide: Does she want to be an effective legislator or just continue being a Twitter star?”

Should we be giving AOC this much attention? Probably not, but it’s low hanging fruit. I think she is so charismatic and seems like someone I would totally enjoy spending time with, but her policy points and unfiltered rants that lead to massive amounts of fact-checking where she is proven wrong are only going to hurt her.

Oh yeah, and no one cared about her dancing video. I actually liked it.
