Summer reading is probably the thing I most look forward to throughout the year. It’s a time to dive into great books, whether you love classic literature, guilty pleasure romances, young adult dystopian novels, or comic books. Without school and syllabi to hold you back, you can read whatever you want! However, you don’t want to break the bank. That’s why I always advocate finding legally free books wherever you can. If you love audiobooks and young adult novels and nonfiction books, you’re going to love the SYNC free summer audiobook program.
SYNC is what it sounds like: a free summer audiobook intended for teens but appreciated by all! It’s sponsored by AudioFile magazine and encourages year-round reading. Each week from April 26th to July 25th two new audiobooks will be available for download. What’s the catch? There isn’t one. You have one week to download the titles for that week but they belong to you for eternity. I still have some of the audiobooks I downloaded last summer saved to my drive because I never got around to listening to them. Whoops.
While the books are only available for one week, you can preview the entire season of downloads at any time. Some of the books you’ve already missed this summer, but can still checkout on your own include A Study in Charlotte by Brittany Cavallaro, Solo by Kwame Alexander, and When Dimple Met Rishi by Sandhya Menon. There are still so many great books to look forward to this summer, including Love and First Sight by Josh Sundquist, Everland by Wedny Spinale, Macbeth by William Shakespeare, How to Hang a Witch by Adriana Mather, and The Scarlet Letter by Nathaniel Hawthorne. Every week there’s a theme that ties the two books together, which I think is awesome, but you aren’t obligated to download them both if you’re only interested in one. Downloading is easy and simple on your computer and easily transferrable to your mobile device, if that’s your cup of tea. </h3
If you love reading and are looking for new books to take you to new places this summer, the SYNC audiobook program can help you out. If you are unsure if audiobooks are your thing, this is a low-risk way to find out.
