Summer is perhaps the best time for young leaders to invest in themselves by gaining valuable work experience, namely through internships. FFL is sitting down with a number interns to reflect on this year’s highlights and encourage more young leaders to apply for next year’s internships.

Have you ever dreamed of interning for a prominent organization that is shaping the national conversation about conservatism? Now is your chance! We sat down with Devon Mirsky, Director of PragerFORCE to find out what an internship at PragerU looks like and how you can land one!

What does an intern for Prager University typically do?

Being an intern at PragerU can look like a variety of things.  It all depends on the department an intern is working in. If you’re helping out in Marketing you might be helping us track the number of views we have on posts & vids.  If you work in Development you would be contacting donors to PragerU. Production would be helping with basics of putting together little logistics when there are filmings or research on info for potential filmings.  If you help out with PragerFORCE you help make phone calls to students. If you have a specific skill like in graphic design, we could certainly use some help in that department! You never know what we might be needing help with.

What does PragerU look for in their interns?

We look for very passionate individuals in an intern.  This usually comes out from someone being an active member of PragerFORCE or volunteering to help out.  We look for enthusiasm and a willingness to help out with whatever we need help with.

What makes the PragerU internship program unique from other internships?

The unique thing about a PragerU internship is that you get to be around a very dynamic work environment where you never know who might be walking through the doors & you could be involved in a number of different activities.

How can students find out more about a PragerU internship?

Unfortunately we don’t have anything listed to specifically describe the internship or how to apply, but you can always send inquiries to [email protected]   The easiest way for students to get more info is to first get involved in PragerFORCE, our student ambassador program at PragerU. They can do this by texting: pragerforce to 64600.

From there, I will post things about sending in your resume to apply for the internship.

What have previous interns for PragerU gone on to accomplish following their internship experience?

Our top notable mentions from our internship program are first, Will Witt.  We brought Will in as an intern without too much direction other than to help with social media, mostly Instagram & to do other types of content.  He basically took initiative to come up with his own style & then pushed himself to get some high level interviews with well known people. The other notable intern is Karina Lopez who originally was going to help out with PragerFORCE, but ended up assisting the person running Production & she went on to be hired as a full-time Production Assistant where she handled logistics for the all the upcoming videos and then dealt with follow up after the releases of the videos.

What advice would you give to future applicants of the internship?

It’s important to show a past track record of involvement so we know that you have been an active member in the conservative movement.  It doesn’t necessarily matter what major you are per se, what matters is your experience, skills & willingness to help out and learn whatever arena needed.  If you have specific skills in graphic design for instance, that’s a plus.

Anything else you’d like to share?

When you show initiative and drive it can lead to so much, whether it’s a full-time at PragerU or a big recommendation to other companies and organizations that they should hire you.  So long as we have open positions, we definitely love to hire our interns that have excelled.
