This month’s Monthly Conservative Man has served the United States in many ways….. He served in our armed forces. He served in the U.S. House of Representatives. He was the Chairman of the Republican National Committee. He was the Director of the Central Intelligence Agency. He was the Vice President under President Reagan. But, his most significant accomplishment is he was the 41st President of the United States…. George H. W. Bush! WOW! Can you say accomplished?

From a very young age #41 has been actively serving our country. On his 18th birthday he enlisted in the U.S. Navy. He flew in 58 combat missions during World War II and served until the end of the war! When he returned home, he married the always lovely Barbara and they moved to the great state of Texas where they raised 6 children!

In 1963, he got started in politics when he was elected to be the chairman of his county’s Republican Party. As we all know, he wasn’t stopping anytime soon. In 1988, after serving as Ronald Reagan’s VP, Bush was elected President of the United States.

One of the biggest accomplishments Bush had during his Presidency was signing the Americans with Disabilities Act and the Clean Air Act.  After singing the act, Bush stated:

“We’re here to rejoice in and celebrate another ‘independence day,’ one that is long overdue.  With today’s signing of the landmark Americans for Disabilities Act, every man, woman, and child with a disability can now pass through once-closed doors into a bright new era of equality, independence, and freedom.”

Both of these acts can be appreciated by every single American across the country. From war hero to POTUS Bush has spent decades serving the American people. Because of this, he deserves to be honored as FFL’s #MCM.
