Scripture Sunday: He is Good

As we look over this election cycle, the world around us, school, work, etc., it is easy to begin to stress about the future. However, those who believe in God and fully put their trust in Him can rest in the fact that no matter what happens, He is good. Yes, sometimes this truth is hard to believe when things don’t go the way we hope. However, in the end, the statement is always true. He is good.
In Romans 8:28 it states, “And we know that God causes everything to work together for the good of those who love God and are called according to His purpose for them.”
So often, especially as young adults, we get so caught up in the future where people are constantly saying things such as:
“What are you going to do when you graduate school?”
“The due date for this assignment is….”
“Where do you see yourself in five years?”
“What if you don’t get accepted to your dream school?”
“The world seems to be getting worse. I feel sorry for your generation.”
As much as all of these questions and statements makes us anxious, worried, sad, depressed, and maybe even sick, we can put our hope in the fact that God has told us not to worry about what the future holds. We know who holds tomorrow, and because of that we can have peace.
Follow Him, put your trust in Him, and rest in the assurance that He is good. There is no reason to worry, because worrying adds nothing but bad to your life.
Matthew 6:34 says, “Therefore do not worry about tomorrow, for tomorrow will worry about itself. Each day has enough trouble of it’s own.”
