You could call her a New York Times best selling author, you could say she hosts both a radio and television station, and you could say she is a preacher. You could say all of those things, and though they are all true, and remarkable in their own rights, they don’t even begin to sum up the astounding woman who is Joyce Meyer.
At 71 years old, our WCW, Joyce, is still going strong as one of the world’s leading practical Bible teachers. Joyce conducts nearly a dozen domestic and international conferences every year, teaching people to enjoy their everyday lives. For 30 years, her annual women’s conference has attracted more than 200,000 women from all over the world. Meyer has authored 100 books, which have been translated into more than 100 languages. More than 12 million of her books have been distributed free of charge around the world, and each year millions of copies are sold.
Her ministry’s missions have helped countless people; with outreach that includes feeding programs, medical care, homes for orphans, and programs combating human trafficking, all around the world. One branch of her ministry even reaches out by sharing the Gospel with inmates.
“All people were created by God to do great things for His kingdom, but somehow lost their way. We’ve had the privilege to visit with more than 2.6 million inmates in more than 3,150 prisons in 45 countries, and in all 50 states. We think it’s never too late to give someone a second chance. It’s never too late to share the Gospel, and no one is ever too far gone to be embraced by the loving, life-changing arms of God Himself.”
Her ministry’s work is incredible, but that’s not all. In her hometown of St. Louis, Joyce and Dave, her husband, founded the St. Louis Dream Center (SLDC) in 2000. The SLDC serves the inner city through hands-on programs targeted at reaching the lost and hurting with the love of Christ.
The impact she has had on her community and the world is reason enough to admire her, and regardless of whether or not you share her religious beliefs, here at FFL, we applaud ANY woman who can passionately pursue her values and fearlessly demonstrate her morals. All can agree that Joyce is a strong leader and an incredible role model.
