Emily Post’s Etiquette, 19th Edition: Manners for Today

Promising review: “It doesn’t get much better than Emily Post when you want to know what is expected in society. Daniel Post-Senning and Lizzie Post have updated this book to meet modern needs, while adhering to old standards where they still apply. No more do women come second to men in etiquette. Yes, you can learn to use your cell phone in such a way that it is not annoying to others. Using the old mantra of “Consideration, Respect, and Honesty”, the authors and editors have applied that manner of behavior to modern life. It’s not all about what fork to use – this is equally applicable to those of us who are far more prone to casual barbecues and informal invitations as it is those who find themselves needing to understand specifics of formal dining and fancy occasions.” – Katie Short

Kate Spade New York: Things We Love – Twenty Years of Inspiration, Intriguing Bits and Other Curiosities

Promising review: This book is super fun and full of gorgeous images and colorful inspirations. Artsy, girly, fun, inspirational…this list could go on! As a fan of the kate spade products and culture, this wonderful addition to my coffee table defines the brand perfectly! – Jackie

Grit and Grace: Uncommon Wisdom for Inspiring Leaders Designed to Make You ThinkPromising review: This little book is a lovely collection of quotes from inspiring women, some well-known and some more obscure. Quotabelle’s mission is to increase the number of quotations from women and girls in circulation (the percentage is surprisingly low), and I also appreciate that they include brief-but-informative bios to introduce readers to the women being quoted. This book is great to display in your office as a conversation piece and flip through for occasional inspiration. It’s a cute coffee table book but also actually thoughtfully put together. I bought one for myself and I am considering getting another as a gift for a colleague. Love it! – M. Jill

The National Parks: America’s Best Idea

Promising review: This book is exceptional both in its unique photographs and in its historical value. I have never seen such a complete collection of information gathered all in one place to expose the reader to the background and history of the national park system in the United States. I will be referring to this book quite often in the future as I continue to build vacation plans that include visits to the spectacular natural beauty of this country.L. H. Zotis

Whiskey in a Teacup: What Growing Up in the South Taught Me About Life, Love, and Baking BiscuitsPromising review:I really love this book! It is so, so beautiful. Reese recounts stories from her childhood, of her parents and grandparents, and those closest to her, all mixed in with some really funny anecdotes. Interspersed throughout are menus and recipes, I’ve tried the Summer Squash Casserole and it was SO SO GOOD!!! Also made the Refresher Cocktail (ahem, the alcohol version), also delicious! There are lots of fun additions, like party playlists, sidebars including a Southern “pronunciation key” (haha!) and even little notes in the recipes that I (an avid cookbook reader) hadn’t heard of before: like an ingenious trick to make perfect biscuits. Who knew?! If you love Reese’s films, Southern food, a good laugh, beautiful photography, and a to-die-for bright pink spine on your coffee table, then this book is most certainly for you! – Booklover

Assouline X Lilly Pulitzer Book

Promising review: As someone else in the reviews mentioned, $85 is more than I would ever spend on a book. However, I’ve recently become a convert to the Lilly lifestyle. But, I consider this purchase a necessity for any Lilly lover! I knew basic facts about Lilly’s life but I’m learning so much more; I actually found I have a lot in common with her personality and style. The photos are gorgeous. This book also looks amazing on my coffee table. Money well spent! – Mellythepoodle

kate spade new york: all in good taste Promising review: “This book is the perfect hostess, bridal shower, housewarming, birthday gift. You really can’t go wrong. I purchased this book for myself. This book is no exception and the price is perfect!” – Alyssa James

Magnolia Table: A Collection of Recipes for Gathering

Promising review:What a beautiful recipe book. The pages feel as rich and good as the recipes and accompanying pictures look. The personal photography brings you closer to the author. This is good enough to be placed on my coffee table for guests enjoy. I have many “tabs” placed on the pages for the dishes I want to try first!” – Deborah L. Palmer

Beautifully Said: Quotes By Remarkable Women and Girls, Designed To Make You Think Promising review:This book is so beautifully presented, one can get lost in the aesthetics before even reading the very meaningful content. What a celebration of women. Their creativity, their intelligence, their understanding of the human condition and clearly the values women set forth and share. The quotes offer content for multiple situations. I can’t imagine an inspirational talk, a political speech, or a presentation without using one or more of them. There is no other book quite like this one. It should be on the shelves and/or coffee tables of teenager, college gals, career women, mothers, grandmothers, and all of us. I plan to give it to many! Kudos to the authors and book designers.” – TDQ in LA

Our Shoes, Our Selves: 40 Women, 40 Stories, 40 Pairs of Shoes

Promising review: “This book is a fascinating read about specific moments of empowerment in women’s lives. The pictures are beautiful. It is an intimate glimpse into the life of public figures (I don’t want to say ‘celebrities’) like Barbara Bush, Tammy Duckworth, Katie Couric and Bobbi Brown, to name a few. This is the perfect book to give as gifts and keep on your coffee table so everyone can read it.” – Caroline Doyle
