Little House On The Prairie: Prime Video

Based on the ever-popular series by Laura Ingalls Wilder, this 1970s television series is an absolute must-watch. If you’re looking for family values, heartwarming stories, and episodes with a moral of the story, you’ll adore watching the Ingalls family and their adventures through 1800s Minnesota. All 9 seasons of the show can be viewed on Prime Video. 

Gilmore Girls: Netflix 

The fast-talking, coffee-loving Gilmore ladies are always a good watch. If you didn’t catch this series the first time when it aired from 2000-2006 (or if you’ve still managed not to catch at least a few episodes since it debuted on Netflix in 2014), now’s the time to grab your mom and hunker down for a Netflix binge that will leave you feeling all warm and fuzzy inside. 

Full House: Hulu

Full House is a classic 90s show and will definitely make you want to call your sisters and tell them you love them. You’ve undoubtedly caught at least a few episodes of the Tanner family in your lifetime, but now is the time to watch DJ, Stephanie, and Michelle from beginning to end. Dawson’s Creek: Hulu

Dawson’s Creek may not fit the “warm and fuzzy, family-oriented” TV show mold that most of the shows on this list fit, but it’s still a feel-good show. It follows all the ups and downs of a tight-knit friend group in the late 90s and early 2000s and each episode is guaranteed to leave you wanting more of Dawson, Joey, Pacey, and Jen. 

I Love Lucy: Hulu

Taking it all the way back to the 1950s is I Love Lucy, a show starring Lucille Ball and her real-life husband Desi Arnaz. It’s romantic, sweet, and usually very goofy. If you’ve never watched an episode, hop on Hulu ASAP and stream all 180 episodes of this feel-good oldie. 

The Brady Bunch: Hulu

The Brady Bunch is a 1970s sitcom that follows the story of the blended family, the Bradys. It covers a wide variety of topics, but most importantly, talks about the importance of family and love. If you’ve never watched it, it’s available on Hulu now! 

The Golden Girls: Hulu

This 1980s-1990s comedy follows the story of four older women who share a home in Miami. It’s equal parts hilarious and heartwarming. Go stream all 7 seasons on Hulu!

New Shows:

Alexa & Katie: Netflix 

This Netflix Original follows the story of two lifelong best friends and next-door neighbors. But when Alexa discovers she’s sick with cancer the summer before they start high school, they learn the importance of their friendship. This series will make you laugh, cry, and hug your best friend a little tighter. 

Zoey’s Extraordinary Playlist: Hulu

This avant-garde NBC series premiered right before the start of the pandemic and follows the story of Zoey, a software developer in San Francisco, who suddenly gains the ability to hear people’s innermost thoughts…as songs. This musical drama-comedy is a little bit of zany and a whole lot of heartfelt. 

Schitt’s Creek: Netflix

This sitcom follows a wealthy family that suddenly loses everything and has to learn how to live among the working class. It’s funny, heartfelt and adorable. 

The Great British Baking Show: Netflix 

If you’re in the mood for a reality TV show that doesn’t leave you feeling icky, the Great British Baking Show is for you. Follow 12 amateur bakers as they face off to win the title.

Fresh Off The Boat: Hulu 

Follow an immigrant family from Taiwan as they adjust to life in the suburbs of Orlando. This completed series is easy to binge and will leave you feeling warm and fuzzy watching the Huang family adapt to life as Taiwanese-Americans. 

Black-Ish: Hulu or ABC

This seven season show follows the Johnsons, an upper-class Black family, as they deal with many personal, social and political issues in the world around them. The show was so successful that they even green-lit two spin-offs (Grown-ish and Mixed-ish). 

Unbreakable Kimmy Schmidt: Netflix

Unbreakable Kimmy Schmidt follows the story of a 20-something woman who’s just been rescued from a doomsday cult and has to learn how to live in modern society in New York City. 

The Bold Type: Hulu

The Bold Type is a young adult drama that follows three 20-something women, Kat, Sutton and Jane, as they begin their careers in New York City. They deal with relationships, health issues, promotions, and come into their own as they determine their thoughts on politics, marriage, having children, etc. While there are definitely some sad moments in the show, these four seasons will leave you feeling inspired by the power of female friendship.
