August is coming. For me in Kentucky, that means even running from my apartment building to my car will cause me to melt. I am not built for the outdoors when it’s hot so I generally spend as much time in August in air conditioning as possible. Now I know that I spent most of last year inside so some people might think I would be spending every single possible moment out and about. Those people who be as wrong as the polls were about Hillary Clinton winning the 2016 election. And since I know I’m not the only one with this life philosophy, I’ll share with you some of my August plans.

Binge watch “Twilight”

Netflix is trying to redeem itself since it lost “Friends” to HBO and finally, I’m willing to admit that MAYBE they’re on the right track. All 5 “Twilight” movies just hit Netflix and I will be sitting there watching (cringing) while Edward and Bella fall in awkward love, just as delighted as I was at all those midnight movie showings years ago. I will be just as wowed by Jasper’s bat trick when they’re playing baseball, Jacob’s abs in the rain and Carlise’s daddy factor throughout the whole series. Also coming back to Netflix, “Friday Night Lights” and if you haven’t watched this amazing show and gotten chills during “CLEAR EYES, FULL HEARTS, CANT LOSE”, while the August sun is melting the blacktop outside is the perfect time to start.

Listen to Kanye West’s new album and decipher the hidden messages

Former Mr. Kim Kardashian is dropping a new album and I will be trying to find every single hidden reference in it. The album is called “Donda” after West’s mother who died back in 2007 and according to Page Six “…will likely be a lot of things to Kanye West’s fans, but a diss album about Kim Kardashian isn’t one of them.” Kanye West undeniably produces bangers like “Heartless”, “Power”, “Mercy” and the ever iconic “Gold Digger.” I’m excited to hear what this former president candidate has to say along with his sick beats.

Make the perfect frosé

It is too hot for me to be outside BUT if I have to be, hopefully it’ll be in a pool floating in this with a glass of frosé in my hand. Frosé truly is the perfect August cocktail, the blend of pink wine and strawberry with a splash of lemon juice just might keep you from burst into flames under the summer sun. Try this recipe and don’t forget your sunscreen!

Plan for Fall.

At heart, I am the most basic of basic girls and have no trouble admitting it. I revel in it, actually and like all basic girls, the best time of year for us is approaching: fall. Every year I have a list of things to do in the fall and I usually have that list done by September. It comforts me when the humidity is so heavy outside I can barely breathe, to think of the chilly nights and crunchy leaves ahead. Previous lists have included the typical pumpkin patch and leaf photos, testing all the fall coffees in the city and having the perfect Halloween costume. I try to attend at least one college football game and watch a handful of scary movies. This year though, I might mix it up, get a little crazier with my fall décor, try a new fall recipe…who knows.
