When he left office in 2009, George W. Bush had the lowest approval ratings of any outgoing President since Nixon. After a few years of silence, 43 has come back into the spotlight and is just as lighthearted and “Texan” as ever. I personally love the Bush’s, but Dubya will always have a special place in my heart. Here are 43 uniquely 43 moments and reasons that show he truly is a national treasure:

  1. He gives a great commencement address.

  2. He had the cutest White House dog. I mean who doesn’t love Barney?

  5. He’s a good ole’ Texas boy who loves his mama.

  6. He always knew people “misunderestimated” him.

  14. He’s just so relatable.

  17. He loves America’s pastime so much he once owned a baseball team, the Texas Rangers.

  18. He knows how to have a good time.

  19. His stance on taxes pretty much sums it up: “It’s your money. You paid for it.”

  20. He was all of us at Trump’s inauguration.

  21. He can accept that he isn’t always right.

  22. He’s a jokester.

  23. He has no idea who Beyonce is.

  24. He’s a man who knows what he needs.

  27. You can’t fool him.

  34. He isn’t afraid to be human.

  35. He’s great at greetings.

  36. He’s extremely complimentary.
