If you think Joe Biden has “foot in mouth” syndrome then I would love to show you his perfect running mate who suffers from this same condition. Not only does she say things she probably shouldn’t, she also acts on them. Her history as a prosecutor is rife with scandals and major problems. Let’s waste no time breaking down 5 times Kamala Harris got it really wrong.

Kamala Harris’ record as a Prosecutor and Attorney General in California

Her record on criminal justice is abhorrent. She refused to test DNA evidence that would have possibly exonerated Kevin Cooper, a man on death row at California’s San Quentin prison. It was only after she was out of the prosecutor’s office when she no longer had power to do anything that she called for more testing.

More sinister is what she did to George Gage, a man accused of sexually assaulting his stepdaughter. A judge discovered that the prosecutors had withheld exculpatory evidence that would’ve shown medical reports that proved the stepdaughter consistently lied to law enforcement and her own mother’s testimony against her daughter, the alleged victim.

Harris was a big supporter of legislation that would prosecute the parents of habitually truant students. She supported this even though evidence showed that this would disproportionately affect low-income minority families.

Harris’s memoir, “The Truths We Hold”, she said: “America has a deep and dark history of people using the power of the prosecutor as an instrument of injustice.” The irony of this statement isn’t lost on any of us. She also stated “I know this history well — of innocent men framed, of charges brought against people without sufficient evidence, of prosecutors hiding information that would exonerate defendants, of the disproportionate application of the law.” Again, she is a perpetrator of the very things she is condemning.

Kamala Harris on Abortion

Harris suggests that the Department of Justice should have to approve all state laws that might restrict abortion. Except states have the right to make any laws they see fit. If there is a constitutional issue, it can go to the Supreme Court. Taking away state sovereignty is a major problem.

“I will also protect Planned Parenthood from Republican attempts to defund essential health services, nominate judges who respect Roe v. Wade and reverse the Trump administration’s illegal attempts to cut evidence-based Teen Pregnancy Prevention Program grants.  I will also continue to fight so that all women have access to reproductive health care regardless of how much money they make by continuing my career-long opposition to the Hyde Amendment.” is a direct quote from Harris’s op-ed for the Concord Monitor

For starters, many Democrats have accused Trump of court packing, but isn’t she suggesting that she would do the same? And we have got to talk about her opposition to the Hyde amendment. I take umbrage with the fact that someone believes that abortions should be tax-payer funded. I do not believe that is my job to pay for services that I vehemently disagree with. In fact, many people across this country agree with me.

Kamala Harris on the Pay Gap

Since 1963, when we passed the Equal Pay Act, we have been talking about the fact women are not paid equally for equal work. Fast forward to the year of our lord 2019, and women are paid 80 cents on the dollar, black women 61 cents, Native American woman 58 cents, Latinas 53 cents,” said Harris during the second debate last July. But FactCheck.org said this:

“Harris appeared to be citing figures the National Partnership for Women & Families published in May 2019. But the statistics are not representative of men and women doing the same work.

“Nationally, the median annual pay for a woman who holds a full-time, year-round job is $45,097 while the median annual pay for a man who holds a full-time, year-round job is $55,291,” the NPWF fact sheet says.

And for women of color, the comparison wasn’t to all men, but to non-Hispanic white males working full-time, year-round.

An April 2019 report from the Institute for Women’s Policy Research analyzed the gap in median weekly earnings for male and female full-time workers doing the same job. It concluded that “[w]omen’s median earnings are lower than men’s in nearly all occupations,” but the gaps varied widely depending on the occupation.

Kamala Harris on Tax Hikes

Listed on FactCheck.org as one of the biggest whoppers of 2019, Kamala Harris said that Republican tax law was a “middle-class tax hike.” She even tweeted: Let’s call the President’s tax cut what it is: a middle-class tax hike to line the pockets of already wealthy corporations and the 1%”

FactCheck.org responded with the following:

“Howard Gleckman, a senior fellow at the nonpartisan Tax Policy Center, told us: “Refunds are not the same as taxes that you owe. Refunds tell you nothing about whether a person’s tax liability has changed.” In fact, the vast majority of “middle-class” taxpayers were expected to get a tax cut in 2018 under the new law, which took effect last year, he said.”

Kamala Harris on Majority of Women Being Minimum Wage Workers

“We should understand minimum wage is a minimum standard of living, but federal minimum wage is $7.25 an hour, which averages $15,000 a year, and the majority of women are minimum wage workers” are the words of Kamala Harris during a CNN Townhall

But this isn’t true. The Federal Bureau of Labor Statistics said that while the majority of minimum wage workers are women, only 1.6% of the entire female work force are in that minimum wage category.

These are just a few of the many egregious comments and policy decisions made by Kamala Harris. And this won’t be the last of it.
