5 Things Conservative Women Can Learn From Blair Waldorf

If there is anything that can be taken away from watching all six seasons of Gossip Girl, it’s that Blair Waldorf is an unstoppable woman who takes charge of her own life. Although the Upper East Side princess sometimes acts abruptly, beneath her tough exterior is a sassy and strong woman. Blair is undeniably a robust woman who does everything with consistent style and impeccable taste along the way.
1) Conservative women believe that if you want something, you are in charge of going to get it.
Nothing is going to fall in your lap if you don’t work diligently to earn it. This is exactly what Blair Waldorf meant when she said, “Destiny is for losers. It’s just a stupid excuse to wait for things to happen instead of making them happen.” Blair has a plan for anything and everything. When something comes her way, she takes it on with full force. This is a critical lesson for conservative women; go after what you want and do not let anyone stop you. No truer words were spoken than when Blair said, “If you really want something you don’t stop for anyone or anything until you get it.”
2) Blair thinks with intricacy, however always makes sure that her mind and heart are aligned.
She often pulls out quotes that showcase her historical knowledge such as, “You need to be cool to be queen. Anne Boleyn thought only with her heart and she got her head chopped off.” Anne Boleyn was Queen of England from 1533-1536 and was executed for adultery, witchcraft, and conspiracies against the king. Blair always makes it a point to make the right decisions when it comes to relationships and work. She would never sacrifice status for a senseless mistake. Always thinking things through fully is a daily necessity, and this lesson can be blatantly taken from none other than Blair Waldorf.
3) One cannot deny that Blair knows her worth–something that all women should celebrate.
She once said, “I’m not a stop along the way, I’m a destination.” An important life lesson for all conservative ladies is this: people who only come to you when they need a favor are most likely not very respectable friends. Blair knows that relationships are a two-way street. If you’re not worth someone’s time and effort, he or she is most likely not worth yours either. Bending over backwards for someone who wouldn’t do the same is a definite “no” in Blair’s book. She never sacrifices her happiness for any relationship, including boyfriends. As a truly independent woman, Blair said, “I don’t need a boyfriend to feel fulfilled.”
4) She never allows anything to get in her way if she wants to reach a goal.
One thing that should never be called into question is Blair’s work ethic. She said, “Nothing’s holding me back anymore. I know what I want, and I’m gonna get it.” When she says she’s going to get something, we all know that she truly means it.
5) While it’s important to know your limit, it’s perfectly okay to let the world hear you when you have something essential to express.
Last but not least, Blair Waldorf is unequivocally unafraid to make waves. She made this clear when she said, “The most important parties are the ones you’re not invited to.” Blair never stands in the corner waiting to be noticed. When she has something to say, she makes sure to make a statement. Although it can sometimes backfire, she makes this an important role in her life.
Conservative women are sassy, fearless, and motivated. Blair Waldorf sets the image for women as a capable, enduring woman herself. Although she often gets herself into sticky situations, she is always in control of herself and her own actions. If something doesn’t work, she will make it work.
