This week conservative women have been making their mark in the new Congress, in their states, and in the media to defend and advance conservative values.

Conservative Women Take their Place on Congressional Committees

The vast majority of Congressional work occurs in committee. Conservative women took their place on several prominent committees this week. The House Homeland Security Committee welcomed freshman Congresswoman Kat Cammack of Florida, Diana Harshbarger from Tennessee, and Mariannette Miller-Meeks from Iowa.

Freshman Congresswomen Nancy Mace from South Carolina, Nicole Malliotakis from New York, Beth Van Duyne from Texas, and Michelle Steel from California on the House Committee on Transportation.

And these are just the start. For a full list of Committee assignments for freshman and senior members of Congress, visit here.

Georgia First Lady Marty Kemp Continues Work to Combat Human Trafficking

In a feature in CBN News, Georgia First Lady Marty Kemp provided the people an update on ongoing efforts to combat human trafficking. Kemp explains that her husband in 2019 signed an executive order creating the Georgians for Refuge, Action, Compassion, and Education (GRACE) Commission. The Commission has led bipartisan legislation to increase penalties against traffickers.

The state also recently opened its first residential intake center for trafficked youth to provide a safe environment for survivors. The GRACE Commission is now working on additional legislation to help survivors file suit against their traffickers and increase awareness about human trafficking prevention in the state.

First Lady Kemp urged all Georgian to get involved to end human trafficking. “To get informed, please visit doas.ga.gov, and complete our Human Trafficking Awareness Training. Thirty minutes out of your day could save a life,” Kemp said. “We will continue to make lasting change in our state by giving a voice to the voiceless, supporting victims, and bringing justice to those who break our laws. By working together, we will shine a light on a dark place and change lives for the better.”
