To be a cool kid these days you have to have a podcast. Every single day new podcasts are announced, and while talk radio was notoriously conservative, podcasts are spread across the political divide in unique ways. There are of course some famously liberal podcasts–Pod Saves America, the Rachel Maddow Show, and 1619–but there are some familiar faces on the right side of the aisle in podcast land too! ‘

Today, I want to talk to you some famous conservative politicos that you may not know have podcasts–these people come from Congress, from right-leaning media outlets, from your favorite news channels, and they’ll be a nice addition to your listening schedule, I hope.

First, let’s talk about conservative politicians with podcasts.

Trey Gowdy

Trey Gowdy, the former representative from South Carolina and former federal prosecutor (check him out in some episodes of Forensic Files), now has a podcast! It’s called–maybe uncreatively–The Trey Gowdy Podcast, and you can download it wherever you prefer to stream your podcasts. This interview-based podcast airs approximately weekly, and features 30-45 minute interviews with people like Tim Scott, Dr. Ben Young, and Coach Kim Mulkey. This podcast is relatively new, so it’s not too late to get in and enjoy it from the very beginning.

This podcast has 4.7 stars across 1200 ratings.

Dan Crenshaw

Texas Rep. Dan Crenshaw is a rising star within the Republican party, and has gone on to become far more than the guy mocked on SNL. He’s since released a book, and now he’s got a podcast too! His podcast–Hold These Truths with Dan Crenshaw–has been around for a bit now, and episodes appear to drop almost every or every other weekday. Lots of content to indulge in then! Ranging from 15 minutes to an hour and a half, these episodes feature Crenshaw’s insight on governmental happenings around the country as well as interviews with people like Kay Coles James, Dave Rubin, Kevin McCarthy, Dana Perino, and more.

This podcast has 4.9 stars across 4300 ratings.

Ted Cruz

Sen. Ted Cruz, of course, is also on the podcast game! He ran for president in 2016 (you don’t need a podcast to tell you how that ended) and has since been a fixture on the Senate floor. His podcast–Verdict with Ted Cruz–has just under 30 episodes as of the writing of this article. Michael Knowles is his co-host. Ranging from 20 minutes to an hour, each episodes goes behind the scenes of various current events issues, especially in Congress. Some podcast episodes talk about COVID-19, the State of the Union, the Trump impeachment trial, and more.

This podcast has 4.8 stars across 25200 ratings.

Now onto some well-known (or should be well-known) conservatives or right-leaning podcasters!

Amber Athey

Athey was formerly the White House correspondent for the Daily Caller and is now the Washington editor of Spectator USA. Her podcast–Unfit to Print–is a great supplement to any other political podcast because it breaks down the media bias on the light and sheds a light on how insane some outlets can be when it comes to covering the issues of the day. Episodes typically come out every week.

This podcast has 4.4 stars across 27 ratings.

Michael Knowles

Michael Knowles of the Daily Wire hosts a weekday podcast —The Michael Knowles Show–that breaks down news, current events, and political happenings. Usually, these episodes clock in at around 45-55 minutes, so they’re perfect for longer commutes. If you want daily news updates that spend a little more time with the topic–and offer commentary–you may like this podcast.

This podcast has 4.8 stars across 10400 ratings.

Greg Gutfeld

Fox News personality Greg Gutfeld brings his humor and reporting to the podcast platform with The One with Greg Gutfeld. Released weekly, these short (8-15 minute) episodes feature highlights from Gutfeld’s Fox show as well as interviews, jokes, quips about current events and culture, and more. They talk presidential politics, pandemics, falling iguanas, and a little bit of everything else.

This podcast has 4.7 stars across 1900 ratings.
