If you haven’t heard of Turning Point USA’s Young Women’s Leadership Summit, you probably live under a rock, or just aren’t active on social media. This year’s YWLS is June 12 -16 in Dallas, Texas and we at FFL can barely contain our excitement! The theme is “Winning Women” and we cannot wait for all this amazing conference has in store. Here are 6 reasons we’re excited for TPUSA’s YWLS:
1) The Speakers
The Young Women’s Leadership Summit features amazing women like Carly Fiorina, Tomi Lahren, Katie Pavlich, Mary Katherine Hamm, Kimberly Corban, Alex Smith, and *drum roll please* FFL’s very own founder, Amanda Owens! Even though this is an event geared towards women, there are some notable male speakers like Ben Shapiro and Joe Walsh. You can view the entire list of speakers here.
2) The Organization
If you’re going to YWLS, you’ve obviously heard of Turning Point USA. For those of you that may not be as familiar with TPUSA, it is a grassroots activist organization that aims to educate, identify, register, empower, organize, and mobilize young people across the country. Turning Point boasts an impressive 500+ chapters across the United States. They also hold many notable events such as the Young Women’s Leadership Summit, Young Latino Leadership Summit, and High School Activist Conference. If you’d like to learn more about Turning Point and the big things they’re doing, visit their site here.
3) The Women
By now you probably know that it can be tough being a conservative women. Luckily, at YWLS you will get to connect with 500+ other young conservative women from all over the country. These friendships made at conferences like this are essential to keeping your sanity once you depart from YWLS and head back to the real world to put your newfound activism skills to use! These women, no matter where they are from, will understand exactly what you’re going through and can even become life long best friends. Plus, with this many young women around, there are definitely some awesome networking opportunities!
4) The Place
Dallas is a city full of history, especially for the political junkie. Most notably, Dealey Plaza, where President John F. Kennedy was assassinated, is located in Dallas. Be sure to visit the John F. Kennedy Memorial Plaza and the Sixth Floor Museum while you’re in Dallas. Just a hop, skip, and jump away from Dallas in Fort Worth is the John F. Kennedy Tribute located at the spot where JFK gave his last speech. Other cool places to visit in the Dallas/Fort Worth area are the National Cowgirl Museum and Hall of Fame, Sundance Square, Fort Worth Water Gardens, Bishop Arts District, the Texas Theater, and the Dallas Museum of Art. Bonus points to whoever visits the cupcake ATM, too!
5) Winning Women
Though the Left and the media portray conservatives as having a “War on Women”, we as young conservative women know that the real war on women is big government. The Young Women’s Leadership Summit will give us the tools and talking points necessary to combat the media’s lies, as well as activism training to teach even more young women that the real enemy is big government.
6) Interact with FFL
That’s right, FFL will have a booth at YWLS! Stop by our booth to interact with our Cabinet Members and Contributors, shop our store, and connect with us! We can’t wait to see you at TPUSA’s Young Women’s Leadership Summit!
