The Heritage Foundation

The Heritage Foundation is the ultimate resource for all conservatives. It’s mission statement is “to formulate and promote conservative public policies based on the principles of free enterprise, limited government, individual freedom, traditional American values, and a strong national defense.” The Heritage Foundation conducts thorough research that is applicable to many policy issues. They also provide solutions that can help create conservative policy. Heritage provides so many wonderful writings from their research experts that cover a wide range of topics that you don’t have to purchase. In fact, it is all on their site!

PragerU is one of the more popular resources for young conservatives. This organization presents ideas in five-minute videos that are completely free. They also provide a transcript for all of their videos as well as references where the facts came from in their videos. It’s a great way to focus on a specific topic and get the highlights in the form of facts and create your argument or your stance on a certain topic.

Leadership Institute

Leadership Institute is tied to Campus Reform, but they are originally known for their wonderful workshops and resources. They’re mission is to train conservative activists and leaders in the public policy process. They offer writings and manuals, as well as on demand online training. Some of these resources are free to access, while others might ask for a small price with a student discount. This is a great resource for all conservatives looking to find their role in the policy process or looking to get their feet wet in starting a grassroots movement.

First Things

First Things is published by The Institute on Religion and Public Life, which is an interreligious, nonpartisan research and education institute. While you do have to pay for a subscription, I would highly recommend this resource as it is a great way to delve deeper policy by receiving a journal monthly with writings from multiple authors.

Intercollegiate Studies Institute

ISI is the original American conservative movement that started sixty years ago. They were established before a lot of the current organizations were created such as The Heritage Foundation or the Federalist Society. They offer the ability to start ISI societies on campuses, they offer assistance with campus journalism (some of their member publications include Dartmouth Review and the Virginia Advocate), they also provide eleven free Ebooks to help students establish a well-rounded education. In order to get your hands on these amazing books, you have to sign up at the bottom of the page.

The Witherspoon Institute

The Witherspoon Institute is an independent research center that focuses on enhancing public understanding of the moral foundations of free and democratic societies. This is a great resource if you are looking at looking to enhance your understanding of where religion has a role in different areas of your life. If you go to their print publications area, they offer books that can be purchased.

The Claremont Institute

According to their website, the mission of the Claremont Institute is “to restore the principles of the American Founding to their rightful, preeminent authority in our national life.” Their resources come in the form of a magazine that you can either read online or you can subscribe to a physical copy that will be sent to your four times a year.
