It doesn’t hurt to be informed about the things you’re about to spend your money on. That being said, these are the five beauty products that  are not only great quality, but an amazing value for any who are looking for good products that won’t break the bank.

NYX First Base Primer Spray | $7.99 at Ulta

I’ve tried several primers, but I always go back to this NYX one. The spray application is really refreshing, and it also creates a semi-tacky surface for any foundation, without being uncomfortable. I always notice that this primer helps my makeup last significantly longer than with other primers, which is always a good thing considering how busy and hectic some days can be.

Tarte Shape Tape Full Coverage Concealer | $25.00 at Ulta

This was first high, and only, high end concealer that I’ve ever splurged for. It was definitely worth it. The Tarte Shape Tape concealer comes in a bunch of shades and undertones, a semi-matte finish, and has a thin consistency while still being very full coverage. A little goes a long way with this concealer, so you definitely receive a good value for what you pay. This also can also be used as a foundation, which definitely saves me a bunch of time getting ready in the morning. However, this product is ONLY sold at Ulta, so if you’re buying online make sure you do some extra investigating to be sure that you’re ordering the correct shade for you. I cringed at the thought of spending twenty-five dollars on a concealer too at first, but the product lasts a long time. I purchased mine a year ago and it’s still going strong! It definitely has become a permanent in my makeup bag.

Milani Rose Powder Blush | $7.99 at Target

Although I LOVE my Tarte Amazonian Clay blush, not everybody wants to drop thirty bucks on blush. I think a really nice drugstore substitute is the Milani Rose Powder Blush. These blushes are matte, nicely pigmented, and last a fairly reasonable duration of time. My only gripe with them is that they’re seriously lacking in terms of color options. At my local Target they only have two or three shades. If you’re looking for a nicely priced blush, these will definitely be great for you.

Tartelette In Bloom Palette | $46 at Ulta / L’oreal La Palette | $16 at Target

Alright, so maybe I cheated and have two products listed for #4. That’s because I think both are great options. I personally think that paying for a nice palette is a good investment, especially on a great neutral palette like the Tartelette In Bloom palette. The formula of these shadows is amazing, and they really last all day without fading. My sister gifted this palette to me for my birthday. A year later, I’m still using it everyday. By far, this is my favorite makeup product that I own. A great drugstore alternative is the L’oreal La Palette Nude. They have a few different versions of this palette, but I think the Nude one is the best. The quality of these shadows are pretty great considering the relatively inexpensive price, and they can last on the lids fairly long if you use them on top of a good primer/base. Between the two? I say save your money and put it towards the Tarte palette. If you’re not as into eyeshadow, the L’oreal one will definitely get the job done.

NYX Control Freak brow gel | $5.99 at Ulta

Eyebrows make a huge difference in the overall look of one’s makeup. That being said, I’ve tried a lot of brow gels, hoping to find one that was strong enough to tame my full eyebrows. The only one that I’ve found that can do just that is the Control Freak brow gel from NYX. This gel is clear. It won’t add any darkness to your eyebrows, but if you have unruly brows like I do, these will keep them in place all day. I use this product even if I’m not wearing any other makeup for the day. They don’t make your brows look crunchy like some gels do. You don’t have to worry about finding the right shade for your brow hairs, since it’s clear.

Obviously nobody “needs” certain products to be pretty, but these definitely are great products for creating looks that will help you look put together and professional in school and at your job, without eating up too much of your paycheck. Don’t forget to look up any coupon codes or deals online to save extra cash.
