Happy Friday! This week were back with another installment of Conservative Women Weekly. CWW is a weekly series that celebrates women’s achievements and accomplishments within the conservative movement. Here are four ways Republican women shined the week.

MavPAC Announces first round of campaign contributions

On Thursday, MavPAC, a group dedicated to supporting young conservative professionals, announced their first round of 2020 campaign contributions. Three prominent GOP women top the list: Rep. Elise Stefanik, Sen. Martha McSally, and NY State Assemblywoman Nicole Malliotakis.

Rep. Lesko introduces immigration bills

Late last month, Rep. Debbie Lesko introduced six bills targeted to address the root causes of the border crisis. According to KTAR, three bills would focus on “cutting down asylum applications”, two bills allocate funds for more detention beds and more immigration judges, and the final bill would “allow authorities to detain a ‘small segment’ of criminal immigrants for extended periods”.

Sen. McSally tours border with DHS Sec. McAleenan

Senator Martha McSally spent her first part of August recess at the border touring a U.S. Border Patrol processing center and speaking with Arizona National Guard members working at the border. She also spoke with Acting DHS Secretary Kevin McAleenan on the state of the border. She even had the opportunity to exercise her fighter pilot skills and flew herself to Yuma.

Meghan McCain announces new audio-book

Last week, conservative commentator Meghan McCain announced her newest project: an audiobook! Scheduled to be released next year, her audiobook will offer a “blueprint” for conservative politics while discussing lessons learned from her father, the late Senator John McCain. The View cohost will dive into what it means to be an American and a conservative. She talks in her announcement video about wanting to keep the McCain legacy of bold conservatism alive. I personally can not wait for this to drop!
