Earlier this week, Fortune published their “The 25 Most Powerful Women in Politics” list and there are quite a few familiar faces. Around half the list features GOP women.

The list splits the women by four sections including:

  • The elected officials

  • The influencers

  • The money

  • The appointees

Let’s get started.

The elected officials

Rep. Elise Stefanik

The first Republican woman mentioned is a favorite, Rep. Elise Stefanik. She was the youngest Republican woman ever elected to Congress and she is now making her mission to get more young women to join her in Congress with her E-PAC.

Rep. Liz Cheney

Making a name for herself in D.C., she is the only female in the GOP House leadership and is known for stepping outside the bounds of what many would call “in line behavior.” She has called out fellow Republicans publicly when disagreeing with them and their policies including President Trump.

Senator Lisa Murkowski

Rounding out the elected officials is Senator Lisa Murkowski who has flown under the radar for many Republicans as she doesn’t make a spectacle of everything she does. As the chair of the Energy and Natural Resources Committee and the second most senior Republican women in the Senate, this Arizonan is pitched in this article as one of swing votes and is known for being a Trump critic from time to time.

The influencers

Ronna Romney McDaniel

McDaniel is the sole GOP influencer on the list. She is known for her feisty leadership as the Republican National Committee Chair. Her tenacity is what makes her so powerful. She is so well-versed when talking about the GOP’s platform but she will be tough even with her sweet voice. She is the definition of “heels on the ground” and “high heels, high standards.”

The money

Linda McMahon

An East Carolina University graduate (Go Pirates!), McMahon and her husband Vince founded the WWE. She is the former cabinet member to President Trump for the Small Business Administration but she left that position to work on his reelection campaign. According to this article, of the $9 million that the American First Action PAC has raised, $1 million of that is from McMahon’s own bank account.

The appointees

Secretary of Education Betsy DeVos

The cabinet secretary seems to have really shaken up the conversation around education. Her positions on education and her literal position of Secretary of Education have been quite controversial.

CIA Director Gina Haspel

The first woman to be CIA Director. Though her road to this cabinet position wasn’t easy, she is well-liked in her field.

Stephanie Grisham

From First Lady Melania Trump’s spokesperson to now the White House press secretary.

Ivanka Trump

She has been a moderate voice to her father and is working across aisles to help girls and women across the world with her W-GDP initiative.

Kellyanne Conway

She was the first woman to ever run a successful presidential campaign, which many Democrats were very fast to forget. She has been proven to be a close confidant to President Trump.

Seema Verma

The administrator of the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services stands up to the calls for Medicare for All by Democrats. She works to lower drug prices and sets policies that affect over 120 million Americans.

These are the women representing us and while we need a longer list, we are so blessed to have such hardworking women fighting for our beliefs. Let’s make this list longer in 2020.
