It’s hard being a woman, even harder being a Republican woman, and almost impossible being a woman that supports President Trump. But I’m here to tell you, you aren’t alone.
From the time Donald Trump announced his candidacy for President, I have been onboard his campaign. From door knocking and phone calling to the historic night of the election, I have been supportive of President Trump. This has not come without constant criticism.
I cannot count the endless times I have been told I’m a blind supporter, have no morals, or don’t know what I’m talking about. The criticism is endless. So, what keeps me going? More importantly, why should we as women have a reason to back the President? Here’s just three of many.
President Trump has nominated more woman to senior level positions than any President in history.
As a woman aspiring to be involved in the political realm, this is a huge reason I support the President. The left loves to accuse the administration of being misogynistic and anti-woman. What’s more empowering and supportive of the true sense of feminism than nominating the most women in history to senior level positions, not to mention having the first ever female campaign manager to win a presidential campaign?
President Trump’s administration has spearheaded work for paid family leave and more affordable childcare.
I can’t name the number of times I have heard professionals say you can’t have it both ways; either you have a family or you have a career. This is unacceptable to me and I refuse to be told I can’t have it both ways. The president is also making strides to support this notion that you can have it both ways. Ivanka Trump has made numerous strides and initiatives to enact plans for paid family leave as well as a plan for affordable childcare. This plan outlines an initiative to incentivize employers to provide this type of care where parents can have tax deductions to make childcare more affordable.
Let’s not forget all of the accomplishments the President has achieved in his first term.
The President has undeniably made strides towards a better America. He has lowered unemployment at a record number, especially African-American unemployment. He has cracked down on illegal immigration, causing the lowest number of illegal border crossings in 40 years. President Trump has had multiple hostages released from North Korea and has made progress in denuclearizing the Korean Peninsula. He appointed Supreme Court Justice Neil Gorsuch. The list is endless in the multiple positive accomplishments the President has made in such a short amount of time.
