She’s back! After months of hiding out and hiking in the woods, Hillary Clinton started her post-election comeback tour and seems as bitter as ever. It is clear that she has yet to come to terms with her loss and is grasping at straws trying to find people to blame. In a recent interview with Recode, Clinton claimed that misogyny coupled with former FBI Director James Comey and Russia led to her defeat in November. Seriously, that is the best excuse she could come up with? I mean, there is no way that her robotic personality and inability to tell the truth played a part in the American people’s rejection of her on Election Day.

News flash, Mrs. Clinton, you did not lose because you are a woman and you did not lose because of Vladimir Putin’s supposed interference in the election. You lost because your failure to act in Benghazi that led to the death of four Americans. You lost because you set up a private server in your basement, putting our nation’s security at risk. Time after time you were put to the test and time after time you proved to be incapable of delivering. Russia did not make you ignore voters in Michigan and Wisconsin. Misogyny was not the cause of your failure to connect to suburban women. Director Comey did not force you to call President Trump’s supporters deplorable. If you are looking for someone to blame, take a long, hard look in the mirror.

Like Kathy Griffin, Hillary Clinton’s inability to accept personal responsibility for her actions is an insult to women everywhere. Every person is responsible for his or her own success and failure. Yes, you do have help along the way but when it is all said and done, the main contributor is always you.

By blaming her loss on sexism, Hillary Clinton is essentially saying that a woman cannot succeed on her own merit and that any loss she experiences is due to her gender. Real women, however, reject this type of victim-hood. They know that they do not need special treatment or exceptions made for them in order to succeed. Real women take responsibility and refuse to play the victim when things do not go their way. Instead of blaming others, they pick themselves up, dust themselves off and live to fight another day.

It is way past time for Hillary Clinton to accept responsibility for her part in her election defeat. Whether they like it or not, the American people chose Trump over her. They chose Republican policies over Democratic policies. Now is the time to end the partisan obstruction of Trump’s agenda and to put people over party. If they fail to do so, I wish them the best of luck getting elected in 2018.
