The 2020 election season is in full swing, and here at FFL we’re excited to see that there has been a surge in Republican women running for public office. We love to celebrate conservative women in all capacities and give our readers a look at what they stand for.

The filing date for the congressional and senate races for 2020 in Massachusetts recently passed. There are three  Republican women running for the House of Representatives from Massachusetts. The state will host congressional primaries on September 1, 2020 and the general election on November 3, 2020.

Tracy Lovvorn (MA-05)

Tracy Lovvorn is a healthcare professional, small business owner and mother who cites her experience working hard throughout her life and her belief in a constitutional republic as reasoning behind her run. She supports the Constitution, supports Congressional term limits, and wants to work in investments in local infrastructure. She also favors healthcare reforms that will help keep costs low and serve constituents better. This is her second time running for the seat, and she faces a 20+ year Democrat incumbent.

Julie Hall (MA-04)

Julie Hall, a former city councilor, announced in early 2020 that she would seek the District 4 seat that is currently held by Joseph Kennedy III, who is running for the Senate in 2020. Nearly a dozen Democrats are running in their primary for the seat. Hall is a retired Air Force veteran who says that her “30 years of leadership in the military, with the Department of Defense and state and municipal legislative experience, has taught me first-hand the impact decisions by the federal government can have on our commonwealth and its citizens.”

Caroline Colarusso (MA-05)

Caroline Colarusso is a selectwoman of Stoneman who volunteers in her community and is a professional manager.  Through her public service and her professional career, she has received several awards, formed partnerships with local entities, and worked to protect consumers and ensure financial integrity. She is dedicated to improving care for senior citizens, thanks in part to her role in helping take care of her aging mother. Her website does not have a full “on the issues” section yet, but she is endorsed by the National Federation of Independent Businesses.
