On Monday, Carly Fiorina announced her entrance into the race for President in 2016.
That’s right. Carly Fiorina. Carly.
You’re correct. That is a woman’s name.
Do you know what that means?
Hillary Clinton’s monopolization of the female voter is over.
Long gone are the days of hearing “You have to vote for Hillary Clinton. She’s a woman.” (We hope)
You know very well no Republican would ever patronize you by saying “You have to vote for Carly Fiorina. She’s a woman” or “You have to vote for Ben Carson. He’s African-American.” In the Grand Ole Party, you earn a vote with your accomplishments, not your race, gender, or ethnicity.
But…for all those people out there who have their hearts so desperately set on having a female for president immediately, now they have options!
No longer can Hillary’s campaign team say that “She is the obvious choice to be your first female President.” Carly Fiorina has entered the field and she could very well be the choice for our first female president.
So what does this mean for the 2016 election and Democrats in general?
1) It means they are going to have to stop this nonsense about the GOP raging a “War on Women”
Hillary is going to have to answer for her scandals, because Carly is ready to call her out “Hillary, news flash: I have four accounts on my single device”
2) They are going to have to talk about abortion, whether they like it or not
Carly is a staunch pro-life activist, and her gender gives her the perfect platform to be heard about this issue. Facing a female Democratic nominee gives the perfect opportunity for this issue to come to the forefront again
3) Democrats are going to have to gain some consistency
Carly is not one to flip-flop around the issues. She stands firm, and is going to make people question why Democratic candidates aren’t doing the same.
4) Democrats are going to be forced to reconsider the Professional Politicians
Carly is a businesswoman, plain and simple. She is not a career politician like some Democratic candidates we know…
5) This is not a “historic campaign” anymore
As far as I’m aware, Carly Fiorina is just as much of a woman as Hillary Clinton. With Carly’s entrance into the race, Hillary Clinton is no longer special. As it should be, it is no longer abnormal for a woman to run for president.
Only time can tell how this race will turn out, but with Carly Fiorina in the race, it is about to get interesting for the Democrats! Welcome to the race, Carly!
