With CPAC still fresh in all our minds here at FFL, there was clearly only one choice for March’s Monthly Conservative Man: Rand Paul. Senator Rand Paul won the CPAC Straw Poll for the THIRD YEAR IN A ROW acquiring a little over ¼ of the total votes. He’s even gaining recognition outside of the conservative world, including being named by Time magazine as one of the world’s 100 most influential people, two years in a row. Can you say impressive?
Like February’s Monthly Conservative Man Dr. Ben Carson, Rand Paul is also a doctor; an ophthalmologist to be
exact, or an eye surgeon. In 1995, he founded the Southern Kentucky Lions Eye Clinic, an organization that provides eye exams and surgery to needy families and individuals. Now, even though he is predominantly a politician, he still performs eye surgery to those who are in need of care but cannot afford it… FOR FREE.
Senator Paul is also pretty popular among young voters, which is something the Republican Party has struggled with in past elections. Paul has been connecting with America’s youth on many social media outlets. He is very active on Twitter where he openly shares his opinions on issues, our current administration, Hillary, and even pop culture. He’s even got creative and is now using SnapChat as a campaign tool (you can SnapChat him at ‘SenatorRandPaul’). He was also the FIRST elected official to conduct an interview with CNN through SnapChat. Senator Paul might be shaping up to be exactly what the Republican Party needs to win over America in the 2016 Presidential Election. Our mantra this month is definitely “Rand is the man.”
