When I was in college, I always struggled with eating healthy my freshman year. Between all of the restaurants close to me and the dining hall, I always found myself eating super unhealthy. Not to mention, I was also wasting a ton of money. I started following some food blogs my junior and senior year and let me tell ya, it changed the game. I was able to find awesome recipes that were super healthy to make and would leave me with leftovers for the rest of the week. Here are some of my favorite blogs that every college woman can use as a resource.

Kinda Healthy Recipes

Based in Austin, Texas, Mason Woodruff specializes in making all of the deliciousness of southern comfort food and putting it into a healthy form. Many of his recipes don’t require tons of ingredients and include stuff you probably have in your house all ready. Some of my favorites are the Copycat Air Fried Chick-fil-A nuggets, the Buffalo Chicken Mac n Cheese, and the Slutty Brownies. All of those recipes are super healthy and absolutely amazing! His website can be found here.

Skinny Taste

Gina Homolka started Skinny Taste in 2008 in hopes of creating delicious recipes without all of the bad ingredients. She has recipes for all types of lifestyles, diets, and even seasons. My favorite recipes of hers are the Air Fryer Chicken Tenders and the Crockpot Chicken Chili recipe. Skinny Taste can be found here.

College Town Kitchen

Founded by actual college student, Jeremy Scheck, he knows how to make a good meal on a budget. Full disclaimer, not everything they make is super healthy but they have awesome recipes. Some of my favorites include the Spicey Rigatoni with Vodka Sauce, Creamy Lemon Spaghetti, and the Painless Risotto. You can find this blog here.

The Defined Dish

My friend, Kallie, sent me this blog a while back and I have been hooked ever since! Many of Alex Snodgrass’s recipes are inspired by her Italian heritage and her southern, Texas roots. She includes recipes for all kinds of lifestyles and is a great resource if you are looking to meal-prep or do Whole 30. My favorites include the Sausage and Bell Pepper Skillet and the Cheesy Chicken Stuffed Bacon Wrapped Jalapeños. You can find her blog here.
