Happy February! Hoping you all stay warm since Punxsutawney Phil predicted 6 more weeks of Winter. Our conservative women are already making the most of this month with a flurry of accomplishments. Let’s get to it:

Kristi Noem nears $1 million Q4 in re-election bid

South Dakota Gov. Kristi Noem raised approximately $966,000 in 2020’s quarter 4 for her 2022 re-election bid. Her year-end balance sheet showed about $1.4 million. Gov. Noem did not institute coronavirus lockdowns, and as such, her state is enjoying a surplus and the lowest unemployment rates in the country. President Trump has encouraged Gov. Noem to primary Senator John Thune (R-SD), but Gov. Noem is proceeding with her re-election efforts.

3 GOP Women join “Common Sense Coalition”

Senators Susan Collins, Lisa Murkowski, and Shelley Moore-Capito have all joined the tentatively titled “Common Sense Coalition”, a bipartisan Senate effort of moderates to break through legislative gridlock. Capito said their goal is to “try to get results and avoid a lot of the stalemates that we’ve had in the past.” In a 50-50 split Senate chamber, bipartisanship will be especially important, as Senate Democrats need the support of at least 10 Republicans to pass most legislation.

Amb. Nikki Haley Hires Woman As PAC Director

FFL women are clamoring over the idea of Ambassador Nikki Haley running for president in 2024, and one of the stepping stones is her forming a political action committee (PAC). Amb. Haley has just hired Betsy Ankney, the previous political director of the National Republican Senatorial Committee, as the executive director of the Stand for America PAC. The PAC will support GOP efforts in the 2022 midterms.

Sen. Joni Ernst Gives Passionate Pro-Life Speech

Sen. Joni Ernst of Iowa took to the Senate floor this week to deliver an impassioned speech recognizing the efforts of pro-life volunteers and calling out the Biden-Harris administration for pushing for unpopular and extreme abortion views, all while calling for national unity. The Susan B. Anthony List (a pro-life organization) shared the speech in a three-part Twitter thread.

Rep. Carol Miller Joins Powerful Ways & Means Committee

Rep. Carol Miller (WV-3) was appointed to the powerful House Ways & Means Committee. She shared, “West Virginia’s energy industry is directly impacted by decisions “The ‘Ways and Means Committee’ is one of the most oldest, most powerful committee in Congress. No one from West Virginia has been on this committee since 1948, and I am now the first woman from West Virginia to have ever served on the Ways and Means Committee.”

Elise Stefanik’s E-PAC Endorses Julia Letlow

Just weeks after being elected to represent Louisiana’s 5th District in Congress, Luke Letlow passed away from complications due to COVID-19. Now, his wife – Julia Letlow – is running to fill her husband’s seat in a special election. Rep. Elise Stefanik’s E-PAC has announced her full endorsement of Julia Letlow, saying “a crowded field of candidates has formed, and the all-party jungle primary is just a FEW weeks away on March 20th. The general election is set for just over a month later on April 24th, which will be a head-to-head-runoff between the top two candidates should no candidate win 50 percent-plus in the primary. E-PAC is leading the way to a stronger Republican Party and new House majority. We proved that in 2020.”
