Kat Cammack Wants to Limit the President’s Power on Regulations

“This week, U.S. Rep. Kat Cammack, R-Fla., brought out the “Regulations from the Executive In Need of Scrutiny (REINS) Act” to limit federal power. “This bill would reassert Congress’s legislative authority and prevent excessive overreach by the executive branch in the federal rulemaking process. It would require every new ‘major rule’ proposed by federal agencies to be approved by both the House and Senate before going into effect. The bill would also preserve Congress’ authority to disapprove of a ‘nonmajor rule’ through a joint resolution,” the congresswoman’s office noted.”

Susan Collins fires back at ‘bizarre’ Schumer remarks blaming her for 2009 stimulus

“Sen. Susan Collins, a Maine Republican, fired back at Senate Majority Leader Chuck Schumer after he pointedly said it was a “big mistake” to shrink the 2009 economic stimulus package in order to win her vote.  “I thought that Leader Schumer’s comments were bizarre,” Collins told NBC News on Wednesday, noting that she was one of three Republicans to support then-President Barack Obama’s $787 billion package to mitigate the pain of the financial crisis.”

Republican Women Help Letlow Top Louisiana Election Fundraising

“Republican women helped power Louisiana congressional candidate Julia Letlow to an overwhelming fundraising advantage ahead of the March 20 special election. Letlow, a top official at the University of Louisiana Monroe and the widow of the late Rep.-elect Luke Letlow (R), raised $683,000 through Feb. 28 from donors including Republican Conference Chair Liz Cheney (Wyo.), the highest-ranking woman in the House GOP hierarchy, according to reports filed with the Federal Election Commission by Monday’s deadline.”
