While the country hunkers down and continues to stay at home to prevent the spread of COVID-19, Republican women across the nation are still making headlines as we get closer to the November election. This week, GOP women gained endorsements, released ads, raised huge numbers, and introduced legislation. Let’s discuss.

Joni Ernst pushes for funds for domestic violence programs in stimulus bill

This week, Senator Joni Ernst pushed for more protections and aid for domestic violence shelters and survivors. This is due to an increased threat survivors are facing with stay at home orders during the COVID-19 pandemic. Thirty seven other senators joined her in the fight and urged for $413 million in aid and programs. Ernst is a domestic violence and sexual assault survivor herself so this cause is close to her heart.
