Former mayor, mother of three, second amendment supporter, and U.S. Representative-elect for Utah’s 4th congressional district- these are just a few of the reasons why here at FFL, we love Mia Love – no pun intended, of course.

Early in her career, Mia served two terms on the city council of Saratoga Springs, one of Utah’s fastest growing cities. She eventually became mayor, and under Love, the city saw a period of 1700% population growth within a decade. With her leadership, the city successfully navigated the drastic transition from agricultural fields to a booming residential community. She believed the best thing she could do as mayor was stay out of the way of business and out of the lives of citizens, a stance that FFL can easily get behind.

Mia’s conservative values make her the perfect WCW. She believes in drawing away from “one-size-fits-all” education, including common core. Love opposes taxpayer-funded abortions, and hopes to see The Affordable Care Act repealed, because in her words, “more government, greater bureaucracy, and higher taxes are not the answers to our healthcare problems.” Mia is a concealed carry permit holder and a proud gun owner. Mia advocates for border security, and not just to prevent illegal immigration, but also to stop the flow of illegal drugs, illegal weapons, and possible terrorism from coming into our country. Predictably, Love supports lower tax rates.

Washington needs leaders who not only talk the talk, but also walk the walk. We need people with bright ideas, drive, ambition, and real solutions. Mia understands this need and falls right in line with the criteria. She authors a weekly blog, in which she first identifies a problem in government, and then spends the majority of each post addressing how to fix the problem at hand. She does this to recognize key issues, and to present serious fixes.

After accomplishing so much not only as a career woman, but also as a wife and mother, FFL eagerly anticipates the next move of this up-and-coming politician.
