Despite the modern society we live in, people still have the audacity to claim that there is such thing as a “women’s issue.” The left wants you to think about “women’s issues” and vote for the candidate that best deals with “women’s issues”-which they say can only be a woman. The left fails to realize that there is no such thing as a “women’s issue” in politics and in our society. No issue is relegated to one sex, and we are tired of hearing that blasphemy.

First off, let’s address the big elephant in the room. Abortion is not just a women’s issue. It takes a man and a woman to make a baby, and the ending of a human life, regardless of the gender of that life, is an issue for all genders.  If you think that the ending of a human life affects only one gender, you’ve got to open your eyes. Abortion and reproductive issues do not just affect women, and frankly, they are not all that women vote on.  Women do, or at least should, vote with their lady smarts, not their lady parts. Stop telling a woman that she has to vote a certain way based on her organs. I’m looking at you, Madeleine Albright.

Every issue is a women’s issue because ALL issues affect women. National security affects women, because women too are citizens of the United States and want to be safe. Tax reform plans affect women, because women too participate in our economy.  Immigration affects women, because women too have thoughts on illegal aliens entering our country and sanctuary cities receiving government funding.

Take for example the threat of a terrorist attack. Does that only affect men? Are women not too in danger of being attacked by terrorist? Are women not concerned about the safety of their country and their fellow countrymen? Do women not have the brains to detest radicalism and understand what is and isn’t a threat to our nation?

Calling something a “women’s issue” is a blatant degradation of women’s intelligence. Women are not so simple-minded as to only vote on certain issues. Women are capable of voting smartly on ALL issues, whether that is abortion, taxes, immigration, national security, military spending, et cetera. There is no issue beyond a woman’s scope of knowledge in the political sphere, and calling something, anything, a “women’s issue” makes you sound like the very sexist you are accusing everyone else of being.

There is no such thing as a “women’s issue” or a “man’s issue.” There are simply voter issues, and thanks to the 19th amendment, both men and women can vote. Get with the times, and drop “women’s issues” from your vocabulary.
