The Bush women recognize International Day of the Girl in TODAY Show interview
Jenna Bush Hager and her mother, former First Lady Laura Bush, met with three Afghan refugee women in a TODAY Show interview in honor of International Day of the Girl. The women shared their immigration stories with Hager and Bush, including their experiences with the organization Break Bread Break Borders in the US, which “works to help refugee women find jobs in the food service industry.” Hager and Bush even received a cooking lesson from two of their guests!
Multiple female Republican candidates “On the Radar” in Young Guns program
Among the 32 candidates named on an initial “On the Radar” list from the Young Guns program, 10 GOP women were featured for their promise in their competitive congressional races. Young Guns is an arm of the NRCC that seeks to help elect Republican candidates to Congress; the “On the Radar” designation, the second level of the Young Guns program, recognizes candidates for reaching organizational and fundraising benchmarks, and it underscores the potential of these candidates to succeed in their election efforts.
