Every Type Of Conservative Woman, As Told By The American Girl Dolls

If you grew up in the 90s or early 2000s, you definitely read the American Girl series, and maybe even owned a doll or two. These ladies lived all throughout history and taught young girls a lot about America throughout the Revolutionary War, the Civil War, the Great Depression and a number of other eras in history.

But what if the American Girls were current college students? What would they be majoring in? Would they be involved in YAF or College Republicans? Here’s what every American Girl Doll would look like if they were a modern day conservative. Of course, this is all in good fun. 

Addy

Major: Political Science/Pre-Law

Clubs and Activities: College Republicans, Mock Trial

Aspirations: UN Ambassador

Addy is the right-leaning college student that occasionally makes appearances at conferences and enjoys tweeting her hot takes all day. She voted for Trump in 2016 but will be voting for Jo Jorgensen in 2020. Ever since starting college, she’s slowly become more moderate, so she changed her registration to Independent but she usually votes Republican anyway.

Felicity

Major: Anthropology and History

Clubs and Activities: YAL President

Aspirations: Work for a museum or historical society

Felicity is the girl that loves to claim she’s libertarian but she’s really just a conservative with a handful of moderate opinions. For one year in high school she had “Conserv-atarian” in her Twitter bio, but now she just has “YAL Prez//Don’t Tread On Me.” 

Josephina

Major: International Relations/Pre-Law

Clubs and Activities: Hispanic Alliance for Career Advancement, VP of College Republicans

Aspirations: International Lawyer

Josephina is a proud #LatinaForTrump. She has a huge social media following and most of her Instagram posts include her wearing a MAGA hat. She’s the VP of College Republicans and did an internship last summer at The Heritage Foundation. She’s majoring in International Relations and aspires to travel the world as an international lawyer someday. 

Julie

Major: Economics and Women’s Studies

Clubs and Activities: Students for Life, Network of Enlightened Women

Aspirations: Work in the Pro-Life movement like Abby Johnson and Kristan Hawkins

Julie is a loud and proud Conservative Feminist. You’ll find her at the March for Life and the Women’s March every year and she’s always posting about how abortion damages women. She’s the president of her Students for Life chapter and she recently founded a Network of Enlightened Women chapter on campus. 

Kaya

Major: Public Policy and Environmental Science

Clubs and Activities: Honors Fraternity, YAF

Aspirations: Lobbyist

Kaya just recently joined ACC and makes frequent appearances on CNN and Fox to talk about how conservatives can be environmentalists too. She runs a blog on the side, where she gives ideas for how to lead a more sustainable lifestyle and she will rant to anyone who will listen about the benefits of menstrual cups and metal straws.

Kirsten

Major: Political Science/Pre-Law

Clubs and Activities: College Republicans, YAF, sorority

Aspirations: Defense Attorney

Kirsten used to be super into politics and was a proud registered Republican but ever since she graduated from college she is tired. She mostly uses Twitter to see how many people she can rile up. She’s always invited to conferences but never responds to the emails. She works in a standard law office and stays as far away from politics as possible. 

Kit

Major: Journalism

Clubs and Activities: YAF, The Odyssey, FFL

Aspirations: Government Reporter

Kit started as a Poli Sci major as a freshman with the intention of going to law school. After her first few classes she remembered that she actually hates politics and doesn’t want to put in the hours required to become a lawyer. She promptly changed her major to communications or journalism and frequently submits articles to National Review. 

Molly

Major: Political Science

Clubs and Activities: YAF, YAL, College Republicans

Aspirations: President of the United States

Molly is the ENTHUSIASTIC Republican. This girl has interned everywhere, she attends every conference, writes for every organization and never sleeps because she lives on Twitter and Parler. She’s the president of her campuses YAF, YAL and College Republicans chapters. She runs on cold brew and she has aspirations to be the first female president (if Nikki Haley doesn’t beat her to it). 

Samantha

Major: Business

Clubs and Activities: YAF, College Republicans

Aspirations: Stay at Home Mom

Samantha is a huge Trump supporter and so are her parents and grandparents. Her dad is the president of the New York Young Republicans and she frequently attends meetings and events with him. She’s going to college and majoring in Business even though she really doesn’t ever plan to work. 

The American Girls were such a big part of mine and so many other FFL ladies’ childhood and it’s fun to imagine them as modern day women.
