Let’s be honest, how many times have you applied for internships, fellowships, or jobs and know in your gut that you won’t get the position once they find out your political views? I know it all too well. For many of you out there, you’re preparing for summer, graduation, or your next career move. It’s spring and you need to make plans right? I’m here to make your life a little easier! If you’re looking for internships and job opportunities in Washington, DC I’ve created this mega list to help you in your search! Do not be afraid to do a little LinkedIn hunting and connect with your professional peers. Networking is a huge help in finding jobs and even housing here in DC. Also, if you have a mutual friend in common don’t be nervous to send someone a polite, professional DM on Instagram. It doesn’t hurt to introduce yourself and ask if they know of any job opportunities on the Hill, sending a resume by a mass email does happen often. I got my current internship opportunity because I made a friend on Instagram and she passed along my resume through an email blast. Seriously, go for it.
