The 2020 election season is in full swing, and here at FFL we’re excited to see that there has been a surge in Republican women running for public office. We love to celebrate conservative women in all capacities and give our readers a look at what they stand for.

The filing date for congressional races for 2020 in Wisconsin recently passed. Wisconsin will hold its primaries on August 11, 2020 and will host the general election on November 3, 2020.

There are currently no GOP women holding seats in the House or Senate from Wisconsin. There are, however, 2 GOP women running to change that.

Jessi Ebben (WI-03)

Ebben is the only Republican woman running for Wisconsin’s 3rd congressional seat, currently held by Democrat Ron Kind. The Cook Partisan Voter Index lists this district as EVEN, meaning this district is very winnable for the GOP. Jessi grew up in central WI, received her Bachelor’s Degree from UW Eau Claire, and currently resides in Eau Claire with her husband. She has a professional background in Public Relations and spent 5 years after graduating conducting PR for municipalities outside of Minneapolis. Her key issues include the right to life, free speech (especially on college campuses), second amendment rights, and rural development.

Cindy Werner (WI-04)

Werner is running for Wisconsin’s fourth congressional district, currently held by Democrat, Gwen Moore. Cindy is a Christian, an Army Vet, a small business owner, former School Board Trustee, and mother of 7. She is passionate about welfare reform, is a proponent of school choice, and is a proud capitalist. If elected, Cindy wants to work closely with Ben Carson to provide more HUD opportunities to the city of Milwaukee. Some of her key issues include border security and community safety, and supporting military veterans.
