Happy Friday! Another busy week comes to an end and it is sweltering hot here in Washington. The heat, of course, is no match for these Republican women who were on fire this week. Let’s break it down:

Q2 Numbers Roll In, Many Women Top $1 Million in Fundraising

With the end of the second quarter behind us, many lawmakers and candidates released their fundraising hauls this week. Newly minted House Conference Chair Rep. Elise Stefanik (NY-21) posted $1.5 million in the quarter and has over $2 million in cash on hand. Freshman member Rep. Young Kim (CA-39) raised over $1 million and has $1.45 million cash on hand. Former White House Press Secretary Sarah Huckabee Sanders, who is running to be Arkansas’ next governor, reported a record-shattering $4.2 million in Q2.

Americans for Prosperity SC Hosts Roundtable with Rep. Nancy Mace

On Monday, Rep. Nancy Mace (SC-01) participated in a roundtable discussion on mental health and police reform with ACLU-SC Executive Director Frank Knaack and former US Attorney Bill Nettles, among other interest groups in the state. They talked about the need for community involvement in change, refocusing of laws, and the need for mental health resources to decrease interactions that may turn violent.

House Speaker Kevin McCarthy Announces “Leader’s Advisory Team on Cuba”

After the protests in Cuba over the last week, Rep. Kevin McCarthy announced the formation of an advisory panel to educate the House Republican Caucus on the protests, develop policies to aid the protestors in their fight for freedom, and educate the public on the atrocities of the Cuban communist regime. Among the 15 named to the panel were Reps. Maria Salazar (FL-27), Nicole Malliotakis (NY-11), Cathy McMorris Rodgers (WA-05), Kay Granger (TX-12), Victoria Spartz (IN-05), and Resident Commissioner Jenniffer Gonzalez-Colon (PR-AL).

Bonus: ICYMI from our friend Olivia at Winning for Women

Late last week, WFW Communications Director Olivia Perez-Cubas tweeted a thread of bills and op-eds introduced and written by Republican women that, as we all know, weren’t covered by the mainstream media. We’re all in the business of recognizing women in the ways they deserve to be covered, so make sure to check out her thread.
