After a whirlwind season of drama that ended in a less than happy ending for Bachelorette Hannah Brown, we finally know who our next lead will be, and it’s the man who placed in third: Peter Weber.  He was announced as the next Bachelor on September 17th at the Bachelor in Paradise reunion special, though he had been the rumored lead since the end of his season.

On last season, Brown ultimately chose Jed Wyatt, an aspiring musician from Nashville, but the fact that he came onto the show with a girlfriend led to a broken engagement before the season even finished airing. On the ‘After the Final Rose’ segment, Hannah revealed her broken engagement and asked her runner-up, Tyler Cameron, to drinks. He agreed, and they were photographed hanging out, but since then, Cameron has been seen in NYC multiple times with model Gigi Hadid. Hannah, for her part, will be competing on this season of Dancing with the Stars, which kicks off September 17th.

But, we Bachelor Nation fans are in for another treat because Peter Weber, aka Pilot Pete, is the next Bachelor! Fans fell in love with Peter, 28,  who works as a Delta airlines pilot, when he swept Hannah off her feet, made out with her a ton, and even asked her to be his girlfriend. Weber is also the one who infamously had sex with Hannah in a windmill-four times. Don’t tell Luke P! He brings insane chemistry to the screen.

Weber’s run on the Bachelorette was mostly drama free-he wasn’t known for picking fights, and while one girl says she dated him before he went on to Hannah’s season, Chris Harrison has said that the timing doesn’t add up and that Peter shouldn’t be hung out to dry like Jed has been. He lives in California, and he’s got a great support system from his family, who seem eager for him to find love.

Sure, some fans are going to be mad it isn’t Mike (who’s an Air Force vet and has the most amazing smile ever) or Tyler, who seems to be enjoying his life and maybe dating international supermodel (and former girlfriend of Joe Jonas/Zayn Malik/Cody Simpson) Gigi Hadid).

At the end of the day though, I think we’ll be happy with Peter. He’s going to have insane chemistry with his women, and I can’t wait for all the flight-themed dates. Who will he take home to California to meet his uber-supportive, energetic family? Will someone pull a move from his book and ask him to be “her boyfriend?”  My guess for limo entrances include at least one girl dressed as a windmill, one dressed as a flight attendant, and a lot of mile-high club jokes.

Only time can tell, but you can bet we’ll be watching the whole season.

Peter’s season of The Bachelor will premier in early January 2020.
