Jenna Bush Hager, author and popular cohost of “Today with Hoda and Jenna”, announced earlier this week that she is releasing a new memoir.  Everything Beautiful in Its Time is a book about Jenna’s grandparents, beloved by so many Americans. She was inspired to write their stories during a year of tremendous loss for her family. They lost three grandparents between 2018 and 2019. The title comes from a bible verse that Barbara Bush, her twin sister, read at her grandmother Jenna Welch’s funeral, who is Jenna’s namesake. To Jenna, the scripture embodies her grandmother’s spirit of patience and appreciation of all of life’s moments.

The memoir is based off letters Jenna received from her grandparents throughout her life.  All four of her grandparents – George H.W. Bush, Barbara Bush, Harold Welch and Jenna Welch loved to regularly write their grandchildren letters and express their love. In the Today show segment showcasing the book, Jenna mentions getting a letter from her grandmother Jenna Welch only two weeks before she passed.  This letter prompted a special and emotional meeting between Jenna and her grandmother’s old friend and roommate who lives in Durango, Colorado when Jenna traveled there.  Jenna’s writing of the book allowed her to grieve gracefully and share life lessons from her family that she applies today.
