The political twitter-verse was a flame this past week when former South Carolina Governor and UN Ambassador Nikki Haley revealed the cover and title of her new book. While it’s not on sale yet, let’s break down what we know and why we’re so excited for it to finally hit shelves.

First, take a look at this KILLER cover. Nikki Haley looks like a super Elle Woods.

The title: With All Due Respect: Defending America with Grit and Grace

Obviously, the title is an allusion to Haley’s famous comment, “With all due respect, I don’t get confused.” And the subtitle reveals that this book will focus on how her time as governor and ambassador was about putting America first and defending American principles and allies.

The release date: November 12, 2019

November is an interesting publication month, because it misses a lot of the big summer book events, but November was the month Michelle Obama’s memoir was published, and it was ultimately the best-selling book of 2018.  A November release date means great Thanksgiving conversations and the perfect Christmas present.

The blurb: straight from the publisher

Nikki Haley is widely admired for her forthright manner (“With all due respect, I don’t get confused”), her sensitive approach to tragic events, and her confident representation of America’s interests as our Ambassador to the United Nations during times of crisis and consequence.

In this book, Haley offers a first-hand perspective on major national and international matters, as well as a behind-the-scenes account of her tenure in the Trump administration.

This book reveals a woman who can hold her own―and better―in domestic and international power politics, a diplomat who is unafraid to take a principled stand even when it is unpopular, and a leader who seeks to bring Americans together in divisive times.

It sounds like this book is going to be part memoir, part self-help. I’m really excited to see what kind of advice she’s got to give based on her own experiences. I highly recommend reading her first book, a memoir, while you wait. It’s called Can’t Is Not an Option and is available wherever books are sold.

Pre-order: Yes

One of the best ways to support an author is by pre-ordering their book. It shows interest and is very encouraging to see from the publisher’s point of view. Pre-ordering the book will help them print more, land it in more bookstores, secure deals, etc. You can pre-order With All Due Respect now from wherever books are sold. It’ll arrive in November for your devouring.

A book tour: likely, but not confirmed.

While it hasn’t been confirmed to me yet, I cannot imagine that Nikki Haley won’t go on tour with this book, popping up at political conferences and book stores around the country to talk about the book. Keep an eye on her social media accounts for more information about that. Plan to head to one if you want your copy signed.
