When trying to balance life and healthy lifestyle, it can seem hard where to start. Just as your mom always told you, breakfast is the most important meal of the day. Having breakfast before you start your day does not have to be a 30 minute ordeal, it can truly be something as simple as grabbing something on your way out the door.
A waffle (or two!) with peanut butter
When you are running around rushing to get out the door, throw a waffle or two in the toaster oven and let them cook while you search for your keys. Once they are ready, add some peanut butter. A perfect breakfast for when your groceries are low and you’re in a rush.
Muffins are a great thing to make on a Sunday night to prepare yourself for the week ahead. You will thank yourself when you grab one on your way out the door.
A smoothie is great breakfast option if you have a few minutes. Throw some strawberries, blueberries, a banana, milk and some ice in a blender, and you are ready to go. For an easier morning, try to buy frozen fruit. That way, you can throw it in your blender and not have to worry about cutting your fruit in the morning.
Sausage balls are one of my favorite breakfasts when I am on the go. They are so simple, and have carbs and protein so you won’t get hungry. Get a pound of sausage, 2 cups of Bisquick, and a pound of shredded cheese. Combine all the ingredients in a bowl and form into golf ball size balls. Put on a cookie sheet and cook for 20-25 minutes at 350 degrees.
This is easy to do when you have a little bit of time, and have already cooked bacon. Scramble an egg, and throw some bread in the toaster. Heat up your bacon. Put the egg and bacon on the toast to make a sandwich.
